Presented with The The University of Melbourne's Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), this workshop will provide the opportunity to learn fundamental filmmaking techniques.
The workshop is designed for budding filmmakers. This will be a very practical and collaborative workshop for a small group of people to write, direct, shoot and edit a two-minute film together.
As a group, participants:
â Write a short script
â Draw storyboards
â Shoot the film
â Edit the film
Workshop coordinator, Kate Lefoe - Film Director is a filmmaker and graduate from the VCA with a Masters of Film and Television (Narrative). Kateâs short films include Somersault Pike (MIFF 2018), Plunge (MQFF 2015), Under Pressure (MQFF 2011), co-directing a documentary with David Muir Itâs Who We Are (MQFF 2014) and directing three episodes of I canât even â the webseries (2017).
Lauren Anderson is a Melbourne-based freelance filmmaker. She holds a Masters of Film and Television (Narrative) and a Masters of Screenwriting from the Victorian College of the Arts, and was the winner of the 2016 Australian Writers Guild New Writersâ Script Competition, TV and Webseries category. Her short films include Vigilant! Healthy! Wholesome! (MQFF 2011) and Love & Other Red Spot Specials (MQFF 2010, Selectors Choice Award for Best Australian Short Queer Film).
