LOOP Project Space & Bar together with Melbourne Queer Film Festival proudly present a special screening of Maya Newell's internationally acclaimed feature-length documentary, GAYBY BABY.
At a time when the world is questioning the politics of same-sex families, GAYBY BABY takes us into the homes and personal dramas of four kids approaching puberty under the guidance of gay parents.
Told from the point of view of the kids, GAYBY BABY is a living, moving portrait of same-sex families that offers a refreshingly honest picture of what really counts in modern life.
This is the third installment of LOOP's Love is Love campaign which aims to build a community of artists, activist, academics and marriage equality supporters committed to sharing love and letting the LBGTI+ community know they are not alone.
Throughout the postal survey and beyond LOOP Project Space & Bar is a safe, supportive and inclusive space where #loveislove and diversity is embraced and celebrated.
During our weekly FREE queer arts events we are also actively supporting the marriage equality campaign and charities working with LBGTI communities. For every beer or house wine purchased during the night we are donating $4 to Rainbow Families Victoria.
Join us after the screening in the main bar to view a photographic exhibition on queer activism generously put together by Australian Lesbian & Gay Archives and dance the night away. Fundraising drink specials will continue until the wee hours.
This is a FREE event but RSVP is a must.
Hope to see you there!
